About The Base

The Base is a grade-A serviced office in Warrington town centre, with a key purpose of developing a cluster of growing digital/tech and advanced engineering SME’s, working towards industry 4.0.

Tenants benefit from onsite business support to accelerate business growth and the opportunity to collaborate and innovate with like-minded businesses.

 

About the role

The Business Development Manager will explore new business opportunities for The Base and will be required to:

  1. Provide business support to existing tenants.
  2. Develop The Base brand as a nationally recognised network; finding and implementing project opportunities to build the reputation of the site.
  3. Identify, build relationships, and onboard new tenants.

You will also need to build and maintain relationships with partners, organisations and individuals who can help accelerate business development of our tenants.

You will need to have ongoing tenant business meetings to offer support and strategic direction to identify and plan tenants continued growth.

 

Key responsibilities

 The Business Development Manager is responsible for the development, growth and collaboration of both The Base’s wider business network, as well as all tenants on site, and will be required to:

  1. Provide business support for existing tenants
  • Hold regular meetings with existing tenants to understand business requirements.
  • Develop and implement business support activities to meet tenants’ requirements.
  • Identify regional and national opportunities that adds new dimensions of support for tenants.
  • Conduct a yearly tenant survey to collect business intelligence and tailor the business support offer.
  • Manage and review of the Base partner’s programme.
  • Provide ad-hoc support as and when required.

 

  1. Develop The Base brand as a nationally recognised network; finding and implementing project opportunities to build the reputation of the site.
  • Create a strategic plan to drive the growth and effectiveness of the wider Base network.
  • Identify relevant key organisations / individuals and implement a plan to bring them into the network.
  • Develop and implement a plan to promote and grow the network.
  • Organise and manage networking events and activities.
  • Develop new project opportunities to promote The Base as a recognised location for Advanced Engineering and Digital/tech (Industry 4.0) activities with SMEs.
  • Establish relationships with regional and national thought-leaders to understand and develop best practice in areas such as growth through networks, technology transfer, open innovation, corporate venturing etc.
  • Develop the reputation and position for The Base as a leading player in the above areas.

 

  1. Identify, build relationships, and onboard new tenants
  • Identify businesses that will fit with the gateway policy.
  • Develop strategies to target prospective tenants, using a variety of platforms.
  • Build and manage ongoing relationships with prospective tenants; to lead to a conversion.
  • Input details of prospective tenants into our in-house database.
